Around the world, it is estimated that tens of millions of people are affected by both dental and skeletal fluorosis. In many cases, it is the addition of fluoride into drinking water supplies by governments that is the primary cause of both dental and skeletal fluorosis.
Common techniques used for defluoridation are coagulation-precipitation, membrane process and ion exchange.
The problem with these three techniques is that they are either too expensive or they further pollute the water.
Researchers from the National University of Sciences and Technology in Pakistan have discovered an effective method to remove fluoride from drinking water that is less expensive than conventional filtration processes and is safe to use.
The study, published in the Journal of Chemistry, concluded that the removal of fluoride from drinking water using modified immobilized activated alumina (MIAA) resulted in a removal efficiency that was 1.35 times higher than normal immobilized activated alumina.
Hello Friends and Family! We at Fluoride Free Houston want to apologize for the lack of updates on the website. We are still working diligently on this issue, continuing to attend city council meetings,as well as outreach in the community. Many of us are full time parents and activists with other causes as well. If you notice a lack of updates on here please be sure to check our facebook page!
Speaking of facebook, one search of the words “Fluoride Free” and it becomes evident that the Fluoride Free Movement has been growing! Everyday new groups are being created while other cities vote to remove fluoride altogether! Most recently we had Wichita, Kansas achieve a historic victory! This movement even goes beyond America into Canada! Check out this report after a Court Injunction was filed against the City of Hamilton for Water Fluoridation.
In Houston we have been attending city council meetings, holding fundraisers, promoting online, began a petition campaign, and selling FFH bumper stickers. We have the amazing opportunity to work with supportive city council members on this important issue. We want to continue gaining momentum and we need your help!
We are planning a gathering for Fluoride Free Houston in either December or January. The idea is to have a potluck dinner, film screening, and at the same time coordinate with those who may want to take on a more active role in this effort. Please let us know what day of the week works best for you!
At a press conference on Earth Day 2012 Houston Mayor Annise Parker said, “”Having a sustainable attitude is more than about purchasing vehicles or initiating energy savings in city buildings. It’s more about rethinking everything that we do,”. Recently, FFH member/citizen journalist Derrick Broze was able to ask Mayor Annise Parker if she was ready to rethink her policies on fluoride.
The Mayor seems to believe the CDC’s recommendations trump the people’s desire to not be fluoridated. Regardless of the apparent lack of concern by Ms. Parker Fluoride Free Houston remains committed to working with the city on this very important issue. Please stand with us and help Houston become Fluoride Free.
It should be outrageous to think that the very water we drink is poisoned—but the water actually is. Although calcium fluoride is found naturally in underground and ocean water, the sodium fluoride added to the public water supply is virtually toxic, a wolf in the sheep’s garb of improved dental health. (The West Virginia University Rural Health Research Center says that fluoride doesn’t even prevent cavities; vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids are better allies for that.) Even the federal government is calling for lower levels of fluoride in public water after a Harvard study confirmed fluoride’s lowers IQ. So needless to say, it is extremely important to know of fluoride treatment methods.
In the wake of even more horrifying findings like fluoride’s link to the cardiovascular and cancer epidemic (causing at least 10,000 cancer deaths since 1977), it’s imperative that we learn how to defend ourselves against systematic and casual envenoming of our water.
Here are 5 methods for fluoride treatment – ways to detoxify your body of fluoride.”
Also Fluoride Free Houston will be having our next meeting on Monday October 8th at The Real School (2805 Wichita) at 7:30 p.m. Please join us as we continue to expand our work with city council, and also visiting the cities water treatment facilities.
Tomorrow we return to City Council to keep spreading the word about the dangers of water fluoridation! Please join us as our numbers grow! If you would like to speak please call the City Secretary and reserve your time! The meetings public session begins at 2 p.m. and you can call in to reserve your time up til 1:30 p.m.! 832.393.1100

(NaturalNews) Dr. Keith Ablow, a prominent psychiatrist and member of the Fox News “Medical A-Team,” recently wrote an editorial for the news giant that questions the safety of water fluoridation in light of all the recent science illustrating its dangers. The piece is indicative of an increasing awareness, even within the mainstream media, that Americans have not been told the full story about fluoride, despite having it largely forced on them in the name of promoting dental health.
Citing a recent scientific review compiled by experts at Harvard University that identifies a clear link between fluoride exposure and brain damage, Dr. Ablow rightly presses the issue about whether or not fluoridating public water supplies truly is in the best interests of promoting public health. NaturalNews also recently covered the Harvard study, which was published in the journal Environmental Health Perspectives. (http://www.naturalnews.com/036873_fluoride_lower_IQ_brain_damage.html)
(NaturalNews) Fluoride-pushing doctors and dentists who try to contaminate your water supply with fluoride are promoting their deadly agenda with a clever lie… a lie you will see obediently repeated in every fluoride push. Here’s how it sounds:
Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral in the water. Our city’s water is unfortunate enough to have a low level, so we are simply adjusting the fluoride in the water to its optimum levels to improve public health.
This lie is repeated almost verbatim, across every city that seeks to poison its citizens with fluoride. Why is it a lie? Here are the five false deceptions found embedded in the statement:
